MP3 is a lossy format. Choosing a higher bitrate can preserve more detail during conversion, but it cannot restore detail already lost in the source.

Can I extract audio from a video?
Yes. Add an MP4, MOV or WebM file and select MP3 or WAV. The video stream is left out of the audio output.
Which quality should I choose?
192kbps is a practical default for MP3. Use 128kbps for smaller files or 320kbps for a higher bitrate when the source supports it.
Why can’t my browser convert a file?
Some browsers cannot decode every codec or hold a large conversion in memory. Try a supported file under 100MB, trim to ten minutes, or use another browser.
Does WAV improve audio quality?
WAV avoids additional lossy compression in the output. It cannot recover quality already removed by an MP3 or other lossy source.
